200 rugby players, boys and girls from all over Europe and beyond

Since 2011, The Pitrowice Nyskie International Rugby Festival (PNIRF) has taken place in the historic grounds of the Prince-Bishop of Wroclaw’s Palace at Piotrowice Nyskie, built before 1300. It’s a 7s tournament, and draws men’s and women’s teams from Poland, Ireland, Britain, the Czech Republic, Austria, Holland, Hungary and beyond. We’ve hosted around 30 nationalities so far, even a Chilean, a Fijian and always plenty of Japanese.

We also have a Bring Your Boots policy. Maybe you don’t have a team, or you’re nearby on holiday. Come and play!

The format is, arrive Friday (try not to party too hard), play all Saturday (all night party with DJs), leave Sunday. Some people like to prolong their stay, and you can arrive or leave a few days either side . There are usually 8 women’s and 8 men’s teams, around 200 players in total, and we also play a 15-a-side match. The Polish Barbarians RFC takes on a Selection of other players. This is the chance of a run out for those a little too slow or senior for 7s. For some, it’s their first ever experience of a XVs game.
